Electricity Generation Assessment in Rwanda

LAC Decarbonization Pathways: Looking Back, Thinking Forward

Mato Grosso Presses to Net Zero with New Climate Pathway

The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) is pleased to announce completion of the Decarbonization Pathway for Mato Grosso, Brazil, which offers actionable steps towards the state race to net zero by mid-century. The Pathway is a result of intensive collaboration and assessment with the government and local stakeholders supported by international expertise and assistance from CCS, Winrock International, The Climate Group and GCF Task Force. Over 60 participants joined the final webinar on April 28 to review eleven key Decarbonization actions in the agriculture, forestry and other land use sectors which reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, enable sustainable local economic development and help achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

São Paulo Races to Climate Neutrality

The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) is pleased to announce completion of the Decarbonization Pathway Project for Sao Paulo in its race to mid-century climate neutrality following intensive collaboration and assessment with the government and local stakeholders supported by international expertise and assistance from CCS, Winrock International, The Climate Group, WWF and GCF Task Force. Over 80 participants joined the final webinar on April 25, 2021 to review twelve Carbon Neutral Pathway actions developed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% percent from baseline conditions by 2050, and to chart a course for further actions to achieve long-term net-zero emissions goals and short-term green economic recovery.

Developing Long-term Decarbonization Pathways With Subnational Governments

On March 25, the State of Querétaro, Mexico, approved its 2021-2050 State Climate Change Plan (Programa Estatal de Acción ante el Cambio Climático de Querétaro - PEACC) including priority actions that support its Decarbonization Pathway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). Design of the Decarbonization Pathway process, its development, and analysis of GHG and economic impacts were led by the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS), Winrock International and The Climate Group as part of the Under 2 Coalition Climate Pathway Project funded by NCIFI (Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative).

CCS Launches Electric Vehicles Pilot Program for Trinidad and Tobago

The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) and over 30 energy and infrastructure business leaders, government officials, financiers, policy advisors and academics in Trinidad and Tobago are developing an Electric Vehicles (EVs) pilot project for the country as part of the Private Investment Mobilization (PIM) training program conducted by CCS. The EVs pilot will be designed to result in an actionable and financeable Low Carbon Development (LCD) program in Trinidad and Tobago. Program design and implementation mechanisms will include revenue generating mechanisms and blended finance structures to attract public and private sector investments at scale.
