US Center for Climate Strategies and China Cooperation Partners host COP 28 Side Event

Addressing Technical and Financial Gaps in Developing Countries through North-South-South Cooperation

Please join the US based Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) and China based Global Environmental Institute (GEI), Shanxi Co-share Innovation Institute of Energy and Environment, and Guangzhou Institute for Energy Conversion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences joint Side Event on Addressing Technical and Financial Gaps in Developing Countries through North-South-South Cooperation at 17:15-18:45 December 1st, 2023, Side Event Room 3, COP 28 Blue Zone, Dubai.

CCS, GEI, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other partners such as Shanxi Co-share Innovation Institute of Energy and Environment, and Guangzhou Institute for Energy Conversion have supported US China bilateral cooperation on low carbon development since 2009 through joint activities in China and Southeast Asia and are now extending cooperation to expanded technical and financial capacity building and technical assistance.

This side event will share knowledge and technology transfer experience on low-carbon and renewable energy development planning from the US to China and then from China to other developing countries. Panelists will discuss emerging climate mitigation challenges from developing countries in achieving NDC targets and how Noth-South-South cooperation can contribute to this progress.
